Welcome to Environmental Chemistry (Chem 101) Course 

Course Description: This course is about environmental issues and the chemistry behind them. It aims to apply knowledge of chemistry to understand environmental issues. The chemistry and quantitative aspects of environmentally important cycles (C, N, O, P, S) in the context of the atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere will be emphasized. Major environmental issues:  understanding of natural chemical processes, understand chemical aspects of problems that human kind has created in the natural environment, knowing about energy supply, chain, issues related to energy challenge and environmental impact in the 21st century,  acid rain, ozone destruction, anthropogenic climate change, sewage treatment and water treatment.
